• Sessions are 50 minutes in length
• Intake sessions are longer to allow for assessment and planning
• Appointments are confirmed automatically once booked
• Full payment is required at the time of session
• Sessions must be attended while sober and clear-minded
• This service is not an emergency or crisis service

By booking an appointment with VM Counselling Services, you agree to the following legally binding terms:
Session Length
• Standard counselling sessions are 50 minutes, with the remaining 10 minutes reserved for documentation
• Intake sessions are 75 minutes due to assessment requirements
Cancellation & No-Show Policy
To protect both your time and mine, and to ensure fair scheduling for all clients:
• Cancellations require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice.
• Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be billed at 50% of the session fee, except in emergencies.
• No-show appointments are billed at the full session fee.
• Repeated cancellations may impact your ability to book future appointments.
This policy ensures consistent, reliable care and supports fair availability for all clients.
Limits of Confidentiality
Information shared in counselling sessions is confidential and protected under CCPA ethical standards. However, confidentiality may be broken in the following situations:
• Imminent risk of harm to yourself or others
• Suspected abuse or neglect of children, elder, or vulnerable person
• Court order or legal requirement to release information
• If you provide written consent to share information with another professional or organization
Any required disclosures will be explained to you whenever possible.
